NJEA Retired Members: NJREA is dedicated to improving the quality of life for retired educational personnel by providing interesting and informational programs and social situations for NJREA members; by working with NJEA & NEA organizing for the common good, to pass beneficial state and federal legislation, and get friends of the educational community elected; by providing a wide variety of member services; and by keeping members informed about health insurance and pensions.

The 2013 NEA-Retired Organizing Conference is devoted to training retired members to organize their communities to advance the cause of public education.Scheduled for March 22-24, 2013 the conference will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton (at the entrance to Universal Studios) in Orlando, Florida.The event will feature national speakers, skill development and knowledge building as well as opportunities to network with peers.

Retirement Workshops: Take a step-by-step approach to the retirement process and explain what happens after you submit your application. We explain your benefits, beneficiary options, group life insurance, loan repayment provisions, and the taxability of your pension. There is also a brief discussion of State Health Benefits Program and School Employees’ Health Benefits Program coverage in retirement and, time permitting, the workshop concludes with a question and answer period.
